Venue Information

  • Where does WTM Connect Asia take place?

In 2017 WTM Connect Asia takes place across two prestigious venues in our host city of Penang:

    The Eastern & Oriental Hotel

We are delighted that The Eastern & Oriental Hotel will be the venue for the opening day of WTM Connect Asia. Located in the heart of George Town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, the hotel pays homage to the elegance of the British colonial era.

  • Centrally located, the hotel is just walking distance to numerous cafes, restaurants, shops and entertainment outlets. Fort Cornwallis, the City Hall and Penang State Museum are a short walk away and there are many temples, mosques and churches to discover.

Penang International Airport is located 20km away.

  • Want to know more about Penang?

“If there's a better microcosm of the exotic east than Penang, we've yet to find it. Located at the intersection of Asia’s great kingdoms and Europe's powerful colonial empires, Penang has long served as the link between Asia’s two halves and an important outlet to the markets of Europe and the Middle East…” (lonely planet).

Penang, also known as the pearl of the orient is situated on the northwest side of the Peninsular Malaysia. Penang is especially known as the best place to enjoy wonderful local dishes; it is seen as the food capital of Malaysia.

  • Need help getting to the venue?
